Debra:  Child under IEP waiting to have leg amputated with infections from brown recluse spider bite not allowing him to attend school. Single mother getting truancy letters even though the school knows of child’s situation. School not sending assignments home as requested and homebound services denied due to lack of personnel. This single mother unable to fight school. She has MS and stage 4 breast cancer. Any help out there for this Tennessee mother and child?

Debra, agree with Chuck re: contacting the Tennessee Parent Training and Information Center for help. Good luck!

Chuck

If the special ed director has not been contacted, I suggest the parent or someone contact them. If this does not produce results, a complaint to the state dept. of education is appropriate. The state parent training & information center could assist her. http://www.parentcenterhub.org/find-your-center/
