Joy:  We have moved to a new state. My son hasn’t been allowed to start school because they are trying to decide what program he will be placed in. He has not been able to attend school for a whole week and I have not heard from anyone at the school. Is this legal??? What should I do??

  1. We recently just moved back to Florida. It took me almost a month to enroll my son because he had an IEP. My son is a junior and is not getting help in his math. When i had an we IEP meeting they said there will be an extra teacher in the class to help him. Not happening this school wants my son to take flvs online classes. Is there someone that can help me get what my son needs IEP education.

  2. No it is not. They are to use the previous IEP to decide on the program as soon as the student comes. They can modify placement, program, & services later. Contact the special ed office &/or central office asap.
