Fran: I live in NY. My son is 7 years old and attends a District school. His Paraprofessional quit stating that she could not handle my son’s behavior anymore. He has been home from school since 2/2/17 and today is 2/13/17. I have called the school every day and they say they are working on it. What are my rights??
If you have not involved the special ed director, do so. If the situation is not corrected asap, you can contact the state education agency. By their inaction, they are denying him a free appropriate public education (FAPE)
