Public Comment Period in Progress on the revision of VA Special Education Regulations. Enter a comment now!

The Virginia Regulatory Town Hall opened April 13, 2009. This begins the 30-day final adoption period for the VA special education regulations.

You can submit on-line comments about regulatory changes.

The final public comment period ends May 13 2009.

  1. I have been an advocate for my grandson since he was diagnosed with ADHD in the second grade. It is very disturbing to think that any type of parental rights would be removed with regards to special education. If anything, we should be trying to encourage more parents to be a part of these special needs to help the system work. Without total participation, I would think it would be difficult to obtain more positive results. I cannot tell you how many meetings I have attended for my grandson and found them to not only be informative but realized that without my participation many issues would never have been addressed. As a close relative, I cannot think of anything more important than ensuring that he receives the best education possible so that his future will be more secure. Education for our children is their future. Thank you.
