Despite struggling for years with a host of learning disabilities and medical problems, Michael T. Sullivan, age 17,  never lost sight of what’s important. As an ardent activist, this two-sport varsity athlete (soccer and football) has  already done more to impact the lives of others than most of us will do in a lifetime.

Do you know a Michael or a Michelle – or know someone who does?

Don’t miss the opportunity to nominate someone for this $1,000 award. The award recognizes the strengths and accomplishments of young people with learning disabilities and ADHD.

Deadline for nominations has been extended to January 15, 2010.

Smart Kids with LD Youth Achievement Award

  1. I am wondering if anyone can email me links about reading interventon, research, anything at all that shows an older child, in this case a teenager, reading 4/5 grades below grade level needs reading intervention.

School is suggesting that grade levels are not appropriate measure. Standard scores are well below the 90-100 average.

I’ve requested multisensory, scientifically based researched program to which I was told that was not appropriate.
