This 2025 Special Education Advocacy Summit (SEAS) is a two-and-a-half-day special education advocacy training program and will be held at St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas. The event will begin with a reception on Wednesday evening, July 23, 2025, and conclude on Saturday afternoon, July 26, 2025. The Special Education Advocacy Summit (SEAS) is sponsored by Connell Michael, LLP and Wrightslaw.
The purpose of the SEAS program is to provide training in special education advocacy for advocates, law students, new attorneys and attorneys who are new to special education law. The program will include approximately 13 sessions on applicable laws, ethics, best practices in advocacy, case strategies and dispute resolution procedures, taught by national leaders in the field.
Proceeds from the summit will support the Center for Legal and Social Justice, which provides free legal services from attorneys and second- and third-year law students to income-qualified clients in San Antonio and South Texas. Students enjoy hands-on experience in all aspects of case handling under the direct supervision of a faculty member of St. Mary’s University School of Law.

Will you be having another one of these next year? Im a parent trying to learn my rights and definitely want to be there. I’m trying to advocate for my oldest son who has finished high school but nobody would help us during his K-12 and I believe that he should’ve had an IEP all this time but the LEA who threw away all his school records and exit his IEP when he was in first grade without our knowledge. Trying to get support that was lost since third grade for executive function, cognitive scatter and ADHD life behavioral support.
The school system also said there’s no such thing as transitioning support. Trying to find somebody to support us is so complicated for a young adults to adulthood. It’s like nothing exist. Any recommendations for support we greatly helpful in CT. I’m gonna try to go back to CPAC again, resources are very little to where to get assistance. Its very frustrating. When you just get passed around, but no one will step up to the plate. Thank you for letting me provide this comment and I look forward to response and any resources that may be available.
