Program Description

One-day special education law and advocacy programs focus on four areas:

  • special education law, rights and responsibilities
  • tests and measurements to measure progress & regression
  • SMART IEPs
  • introduction to tactics & strategies for effective advocacy

Wrightslaw programs are designed to meet the needs of parents, educators, health care providers, advocates and attorneys who represent children with disabilities regarding special education. The program is not disability specific.

From I-65 North: Take the I-264 (Watterson Xway) East exit. After traveling approximately 7 miles,
take Exit 20A (Shelbyville Rd. E, US 60/Middletown). Shelby Campus is 2 miles on the left.

From I-65 South: Take the I-264 (Watterson Xway) East exit. Follow the directions above.

From Airport: Take the I-264 (Watterson Xway) East exit. Follow the directions above.

From I-64 East: Take Exit 12B (I-264 East/Watterson Xway). Then take Exit 20A (Shelbyville Rd.,
US 60/Middletown). Shelby Campus is 2 miles on the left.

From I-64 West: Take Exit 15 (Hurstbourne Pkwy., Middletown/Jeffersontown/ Shelby Campus). Turn
right on Hurstbourne Pkwy. Travel approximately 2 miles to the intersection of Shelbyville Rd. (US 60).
Turn left on to Shelbyville Rd. Shelby Campus is approximately ¼ mile on the right.

I-71 South: Take the I-264 (Watterson Xway) West exit. This is a left turn. Take the Shelbyville Road
East exit (US 60/Middletown). Shelby Campus is 2 miles on the left.
