Developing Your Child's IEP - Do All Children with Disabilties Have a Right to Transportation?
|
Question 8. Do all children with disabilities have a right to transportation as a related service? |
Answer
No. If the school provides transportation for nondisabled children, it must provide transportation to children with disabilities.
If the school does not provide transportation to nondisabled children, the team will make decisions about transporting your child on a case-by-case basis.
If your child has transportation needs and the school will transport him on a bus, you may consider asking the bus driver to joint the IEP team. |
