Wrightslaw Special Education Law and Advocacy Conference, a Wrightslaw training program featuring Pete Wright, Esq., is being sponsored by Win River Casino and C.H.E.A.R. (Child Help Educational Advocacy Relations).

Program Description


One-day special education law and advocacy programs focus on four areas:

  • special education law, rights and responsibilities
  • tests and measurements to measure progress & regression
  • SMART IEPs
  • introduction to tactics & strategies for effective advocacy

Wrightslaw programs are designed to meet the needs of parents, educators, health care providers, advocates and attorneys who represent children with disabilities regarding special education. The program is not disability specific.

Walk-In (individual only) $100 upon availability. Lunch will be on your own.

Conference fee includes morning refreshments, lunch, afternoon snacks and three books Wrightslaw: Special Education Law, 2nd Edition, Wrightslaw: From Emotions to Advocacy, 2nd Edition, and Wrightslaw: All About IEPs.

Credits: 6 CLE's (continuing legal credits) and 0.6 CEU's (continuing education units) have been appoved for this conference. The $13 CEU and $25 CLE fee are made payable at the conference. 6 credits for LMFTs, LCSWs and LPCCs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences have been approved. 6 contact hours of continuing education credits for RN's as required by the Californiai Board of Registered Nursing have been approved. Both are an additional fee of $25.

The Hilton Garden Inn Redding Hotel is offering a group room rate of $109 per night for March 15-16, 2013 only.
