He also has autism. We are trying weighted vests, visual timers, visual schedules, time outs, structured work\/break times, and I have seen some improvement in just these first few weeks of school, but, I am looking for any and all strategies for students with both ADHD\/Autism. He is in 1st grade but tests at 4th grade levels in some areas, yet resists sitting for any work-related task. Help please! I am a newbie and I have 7 other students who also deserve some love and attention. Not sure how to or where to even start with academics. So far it has all just been figuring out logistics, scheduling, routines, procedures, expectations, etc. What is realistic?
