She had adjustment difficulties in the beginning and was seen by the school counselor, then settled down.<\/p>\n<p>She made honor roll for the first semester and won a city-wide spot on the &#8220;All City Orchestra&#8221;. She is doing well in all of her subjects.<\/p>\n<p>I discovered that her science teacher placed my daughter in &#8220;modified curriculum&#8221; with other special education students in her classroom. She did so without my knowledge. The teacher grouped the special education students together in the classroom.<\/p>\n<p>I wrote a letter to the teacher and she apologized to me. I was told the teacher would no longer give &#8220;modified curriculum&#8221; to my daughter.<\/p>\n<p>I asked for &#8220;modified curriculum&#8221; to be removed from my daughter&#8217;s report cards. She has an A- with a comment &#8220;modified curriculum&#8221;. The Science teacher informed me that she can only remove the &#8220;modified curriculum&#8221; if she downgrades her grade 1-2 levels.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tim: I am a parent of a 7th grade student.
