The administration wants to change her for someone who has a bad reputation.  Can we write Cate into the IEP?  Does IDEA state anywhere that an individual can <em>not<\/em> be requested as a paraprofessional.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>No<\/strong>, the law doesn&#8217;t say anything about a parent&#8217;s right to select a specific teacher or paraprofessional. Your child has a right to <strong>a <\/strong>teacher (or para), but does not have a right to <strong>the BEST<\/strong> teacher or para.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>You need to be careful about how you approach this issue.<\/p>\n<p>Much depends on your relations with other school personnel and the policies or customs in your school or school district.
