Program Description
A hands-on special education workshop designed to meet the needs of parents and professionals serving children and teens with disabilities. This program is specific to Federal and New York Special Ed Laws relating to dyslexia and autism. Note - The program begins at 8:00 am, has an abbreviated lunch, and ends at 3:00 pm.
One-day special education law and advocacy program focusing on the following topics:
· special education law, rights and responsibilities under IDEA (Section 1400 and 1401)
· ESY,LRE, Private Placements; Understanding Tests and Measurements (Section 1412)
· Evaluations, IEP’s, Procedural Safeguards, litigation, new DSM 5 and Legal Issues relating to Dyslexia and Autism (Section 1414,1415)
· Special Education Advocacy for Parents, Advocates and Parent’s Attorney
