Wrightslaw: From Emotions to Advocacy, 2nd Edition (5/5) Dec 14, 2007 S. Nomura Seattle WA
This book is by far the best I've read regarding Special Education law and how to successfully advocate for your child within the school system. It shows you how to level the playing field and become an equal and effective member of the IEP team. The commentary provided by the authors is invaluable and something you'd probably pay top dollar for if you had to hire your own attorney. We as parents can be effective advocates. "From Emotions to Advocacy" is the one tool in your box you can't do without.
Godsend, is spelled Wrightslaw! (5/5) Mar 9, 2012 Suzanne Arena Cranston RI US
Godsend! All I can say is if you are preparing for a simple 504, IEP or filing a Complaint this was key for me. Another VERY valuable tool is the Wrightslaw website. I found the Timeline was the best thing I could have done, albeit it took me more than 24 hours to complete. The Wrights have taken the term "pay forward" to the highlest level of compassion. I am so incredibly thankful and share this information with all that approach me.
