Wrightslaw Special Education Law & Advocacy Programs in Springfield, MA (May 11) and Rochester, NY (May 17)

If you want to learn about special education law and advocacy, we want you to know about two great training opportunities within the next two weeks.


Special Education Law & Advocacy with Pete & Pam Wright in Springfield MA (May 11)

On Thursday, May 11, Pete and Pam Wright will present a full day Wrightslaw Special Education Law and Advocacy Training program at the Holiday Inn Springfield, 711 Dwight Street, Springfield, MA 01104.

The program is sponsored by ACCESS Solutions for Life, Inc. and Amalgamating Effect, Inc.

Program Overview

This full day special education law and advocacy program will focus on four areas:

  • Special education law, rights and responsibilities
  • Tests and measurements to measure progress & regression
  • SMART IEPs
  • Introduction to tactics & strategies for effective advocacy

You will also learn about key changes in IDEA 2004 including:

  • New requirements for initial evaluations, reevaluations, parental consent
  • New requirements for measurable IEP goals, IEP teams, revising IEPs
  • New eligibility issues for students with specific learning disabilities
  • New procedural requirements and timelines, Due Process Complaint Notice and Resolution (IEP) Session
