Free Pub: Children with Disabilities Placed by Parents in Private Schools

Confused about responsibilities for educating children with disabilities who attend private schools? You aren't alone.

A new publication from the Council for American Private Education and the IDEA Local Implementation by Local Administrators Partnership promises help.

Children with Disabilities Placed By Their Parents in Private Schools: An IDEA Practices Toolkit provides clear explanations of the procedures regarding the education of students with disabilities voluntarily placed by their parents in private schools.

This toolkit will help anyone involved in the process - parents, staff and administrators of
public and private schools.

Topics covered include: finding and evaluating private schools for children with disabilities, procedures regarding service delivery; developing and implementing service plans for these students.

Children with Disabilities Placed By Their Parents in Private Schools: An IDEA Practices Toolkit is available in PDF format from the IDEA Practices site

You can also purchase the publication from the Council for Exceptional Children for $49.95.
