  1. It discusses the challenges and legal considerations surrounding suspensions and provides insights on advocating for appropriate disciplinary measures and support for students with ADHD. It’s an informative resource for parents, educators, and advocates seeking to understand the rights and needs of students with ADHD. Thank you, Wrightslaw, for shedding light on this important issue!

  2. Help! My child was suspended and he did nothing wrong. Teacher wanted a break from him. He has autism and has difficulty relating to peers. I tried communicating with the principal but he just goes with what the teacher wants. I then decided I was going to look at Private Schools for him. Principal was made aware and called private schools in our area telling them not to accept my child. What can I do now?

    • He probably goes with what the teacher wants to keep the teacher. I know sometime teachers depending on seniority can get away with this. However, they should not be suspending your son for no reason. If there is behavior issues than you should ask for an FBA and a BIP. As far as them calling private schools and telling them not to take your son I think you should file a state complaint or complain to the superintendent. That should not have happened.
