Ashley:  Students I teach are categorized as Level II/III students. I teach in a K-3 building. The school district is wanting these students to stay in our building until 4th grade, then go straight to Middle school (6th-8th grade)– skipping the 4th/5th grade building with their peers.

Is this legal?! Do parents have a say?

  1. No. Parents can point out that regulations say that students are to be with their peers & on their home campus as much as possible. Also decisions are to be individualized. What is being proposed is an administrative decision, not based on individual needs.
